It seems like just yesterday I was waddling around and so ready to pop I couldn't stand it anymore. Colby is officially one year old (as of 12:10pm PST)! This time last year I was in awe of my beautiful newborn. It is so bittersweet to think of it.
Colby has been through quite a bit this past year.

9 month check up
Colby had his 9 month check up last week. He is now 30 1/4" long, 19.6 lbs (coooome on 20 lbs!!), and his head is 17" around. He is still just a tall skinny guy. It's hard to get outfits to fit right! He's long enough for most 9-12 month clothes but so skinny he swims in them. haha. Poor kid. He has 4 teeth and is getting around like a lightning bolt. He crawls quickly and is starting to stand on his own. The one bad habit he's picked up is grinding his teeth, I need to get him into the dentist for that! :(
He's still Momma's little man and doesn't like being away from me. He likes me to sit in his play room and watch him play, if I leave he comes to find me. It doesn't help me get any cleaning done, thats for sure!
Colby is eating pretty much anything and everything these days, though he doesn't show it! He loves mac n cheese, pea soup, rice crackers, and any little snacks he can toss in his mouth. What a great eater!
Here are some new pics to peek at!

6 months old
Colby is now 6 1/2 months old. I am a little late on updating, I apologize. At his 6 month check up he was 17 lbs, 27 inches long, and his head was 17 inches round. He is in 25% for head, 50% for weight and 75% for length. I feel like he eats a TON! He has switched to baby food eating 2 jars every feeding. He is still just scooting and not crawling but, he does sit up mostly on his own. He is also getting his FIRST TOOTH! It popped up around April 29th.
Colby is such a good and happy baby. We took our first road trip with him for Heidi and Jared's wedding in Keller, TX. We were able to stop along the way and stay with some family over night. Thanks again to Margaret & Charley, and The Jaramillo's for letting us stay with you, it made the trip easier on ALL of us!

Colby has grown quite a bit since I updated last. I've been just busy, busy with him. Running around, visiting family in Washington for a surprise visit, walking and hanging out with our mom's group.
Colby is not quite sitting up on his own but he is getting really close! He is scooting towards things and working on crawling too! He seems to be teething, drooling lots, gnawing on anything and everything, and very irritable right now. We started him on rice cereal on March 13th while visiting Gramma and Papa Boone. He has done so well with it. We also started him on organic sweet potatoes, he LOVES it! I'm trying to work on making him full so he doesn't want to eat every TWO hours. I posted a little slideshow in the sidebar of some of our recent pictures.
He is at a perfect age right now. I love how interactive he is but independent and the same time. He likes to pull hair, play with his toys, "fly", dance with Momma or Daddy, hang on the couch (yeah he likes TV :( ), hang upside down, smile, and laugh. He's my favorite person right now!!
I am looking for a job, cross your fingers. I am hoping to find a job where I will work nights so that we don't have to put Colby in daycare but we'll see what happens. We will schedule his 6 months appt soon but we still have a couple weeks. I will update again then, unless he starts crawling!

Colby's first cold
Well we had Colby's 4 mo check up on the 19th and he had just come down with his FIRST cold. Poor little guy. We sat in the cold and rainy weather waiting for Sterling to get home. That's when the runny nose started and now we've been all stuffy, snotty, and sore. He is now 25 1/2 inches long, 14 lbs 11 oz and his head is 16 inches around. The doctor says he pretty much average. Sounds good to me!
We still spend our days just hanging around the house, although there are A LOT more toys here now! He even has a couple DVD's that we watch together. He hasn't rolled over yet but he can roll from belly to back and back to belly. Now that Daddy is home I think we'll be working a lot more on rolling and coordination and maybe even crawling! We'll see. I'm not in too big of a hurry to get him mobile.
Well, not much else to say today, we didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night! Poor little man couldn't breathe and was coughing so much it kept him and Momma up. Hopefully the new humidifier Daddy bought will help us tonight. We don't like being sick!
Love you All and we'll try to post some new pics soon!

A few of the newest pictures

Serious face on his play mat. With his friend Tommy from our Moms group

Finally content on his tummy! With his Momma. Happy Boy.

His little Bear Butt pajamas. He got his thumb! "Do I have to sit up momma?"
In Omar's Hat. His little monster Old Navy boxers. Sitting in his Bumbo.
Sitting up with just a little help. With his favorite person! In his new robe.
His 3 month old picture.
Finally
Hi all! Finally an update.... Colby grew almost 3 full inches and put on 3 whole lbs while we were visiting in Washington. He was 13lbs 6 oz and 25inches long when we went to the doctor in January. No wonder we had to buy new clothes for him!! He outgrew all his newborn clothes. Since then he's put on another pound!! I weighed him at a store in Ventura the other day and he was 14lbs 6 oz.

This little guy is changing sooo much and growing into this amazing little boy with the greatest little personality. He's laughing and "talking" now and recognizes faces. He loves his Momma, of course and we spend our days hanging out together.....walking, laughing, playing, and just looking at each other. I can't believe how much I love him.

We are getting closer to Sterling coming home, Yay! He will be home during the week of February 15th. It will be nice to have some help around here and I am excited for Colby to re-meet his Daddy. :)
I hope you all enjoy the pictures!

Record heat for Oxnard.....
So it's been a record breaking few days of weather down here. It was 86 degrees today!! Quite a change from the 30-40 degree weather I was in while up in Washington. In the last month I've gone from 60 degree weather to the teens, warming up to 30-40 degrees and then back to the heat. Ugh!
Colby and I have been quite busy since we got home on Monday night. I haven't even unpacked yet! I have a friend coming over Friday to watch the little man while I clean house, unpack and get reorganized. Thanks to everyone who sent Christmas/Welcome Baby gifts! Colby was so spoiled this year and I have been blessed with all of you who provided for him.
I will add some pictures soon. Sorry! Not only have we been busy but I have strep throat. :( Check back in a couple days for a better, longer update.
Well time to run. I'm trying to get Colby to sleep in his crib in his own room! It's not working so well, gotta go grab the crying baby!

D-Day!
Well the time has come for Colby and I to head back down to sunny Southern California. While we've loved the cold, wet, snowy, windy, crazy weather...we're ready to get back to our house and our kitty, Jynx. We are sad to leave all of our family and friends and will have to get used to life on our own again. That is, until Sterling gets back from Romania next month. We love everyone and have had a great (almost) 4 weeks. Colby has changed in sooo many ways and I can't wait to see him change and grow up even more. This little guy is my life and I wouldn't change anything about him!
I will post pictures AND videos (cross your fingers) as soon as we get settled back into a routine at home.
Love you all!
Tarin and Colby
