2 months old!
I can't believe Colby is already 2 months old! I feel like this time is flying by. I have to say that gettin glaid off was a blessing in disguise. I could not have gone back to work yet! I enjoy time with my little man way too much as he is "talking" more and more and just becoming quite the little performer. He's so cute! He already roll onto his side and has been smiling for a few weeks. He is just starting to laugh! As I type he is laying on the play mat that gramma Lori and papa Bill got him. Ooops he's crying. I'll have to type more later!
Dec 26th:
Ok, so I'm finally getting back to this blog. It's been a crazy few days with the Holidays and the snowy weather. It has literally snowed everyday since I've been home. I have never seen it snow this much in Renton. We don't have a whole lot of accumulated snow but it sure looks like Christmas outside!
So Colby had a first today, he rolled from his back to his right side and back again. He's far from rolling over, yay!, but it definitely was a milestone that made his momma happy.
Colby and I have been in Washinton for just over a week and we've had so much fun visiting Papa and Gramma! It's been so nice to have all the extra hands to hold my chubby monkey but it's seeming to take its toll on him. He's been a little overwhelmed lately and he's been a bit fussy. I'm sure a little of that is due to him growing and just not being in a familiar environment. Either way, we'll get through it just fine.
I'll blog later about Christmas and presents and family! Have a great weekend!

8 weeks
So Colby is eight weeks now and has been quite busy. This last week he hit a great growth spurt. He weighs in at 10lbs 6 oz, is 22 1/4 inches long, and his head is 15 inches around. I can't believe my baby is getting so big already. He's pretty proportionate with his measurements in the 25-50% range. Not too bad!
He had a first this week....Stephanie flew into town and we decided since she had never been to Disneyland we needed to go. I'll post pics later but we had a great time! The park was all set up for Christmas and we even had "snow". Colby was allowed to go with us on Pirates of the Carribbean, The Haunted Mansion, Nemo's Submarine ride, and It's a Small World. He slept through most of the park but was awake on Pirates and It's a Small World (he started screaming at the end due to being hungry! lol).
We are finishing getting packed and are ready to get on a plane to see Grandpa Bill, Grandma Lori, Ranetta and Johnny! We can't wait to spend our first Christmas with them, and it's going to be a White Christmas! Yay!

Just a few new pics.
Colby and I went to the Santa Barbara Zoo with Auntie Shayna on December 8th. He seemed to enjoy it, well as much as a sleeping baby does! Our favorite part was the giraffes. We might actually have a picture to frame and hang in his room, which is safari themed. We have had a very adventure filled last 7 weeks and have had a little break from company. However this weekend Colby gets to meet his Auntie Stephanie! Boy momma has lots of friends. :) But thats ok, Colby can never have too many Aunts or Uncles to love him and hold him so momma can have a break! We'll be in Washington next week so stay tuned for many many more pictures.

Thanksgiving in Redondo Beach,CA
Uncle Justin and Colby. Sleeping in the hotel.
Auntie Mollie and Colby. His Thanksgiving outfit.
Colby had his first Thanksgiving down in Redondo Beach, CA with Uncle Justin, Aunt Mollie and her family. We met quite a few people and had some great food! I got a little break from holding the little man all the time and was able to let others feed him too! (Yay for pumping :) )
Our night in the hotel with Justin and Mollie went pretty well. But we ended up staying an extra night and Colby was quite fussy. :( Sorry Uncle Justin and Aunt Mollie!
Hopefully I'll get a few more pictures from Susan's camera so I can share them with everyone. For now, enjoy the couple I have here. Well he's actually asleep so I'm going to try to get some sleep too. Goodnight!

One month already?!?!
Well this month has been a long one! The first few weeks seemed to fly by but these last couple weeks have been hard and quite taxing for both of us. Being on our own has it's ups and downs. We are free to do whatever we want everyday but we don't have anyone to wait on us hand and foot. It's just me and Colby for the next few weeks. We are looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with Justin, Mollie and her family down in Redondo Beach this year. It should be a lot of fun and we'll meet lots of new people.
Colby had his one month check up on the 18th of this month. He now weighs 8lbs 5 oz. He is 21 3/4 inches long and his head is 14 inches around. He is growing perfectly. He is still just a perfect little boy, except for the screaming, haha! He holds his head up really well for being so young and he loves to look around the room. He has already started to roll onto his side so I'm sure he'll be rolling over before too long. The doctor also said he was looking like he wanted to crawl!! Probably my favorite thing is the nights when he just doesn't seem to want to be put down. He and I cuddle and he usually ends up sleeping on my chest. He's one hot little guy but I don't mind waking up sweaty when my little man sleeping with me! It's the best face to wake up next to.
Our upcoming schedule:
Thanksgiving in Redondo
Stephanie visits Dec 13-16
We leave for Washington Dec 17th for Christmas with the Grandparents and the rest of my family.
Jan 5th we head back home and I go back to work on the 6th.
I'm definitely not looking forward to leaving Colby and going back to work but the bills have to get paid right? Well he's in his swing right now and just woke up. Time to see if he's ready to move into bed. Cross your fingers for me.

Hanging in the heat
Not much new to report here but I thought I would post some more pictures for everyone to see. Colby and I are trying not to melt down here in the crazy record heat for November in SoCal. We're supposed to hit 90's tomorrow. Ugh! We'll be either at the beach in the wind or inside the mall walking around in the air conditioning. :) Enjoy the new pics!

3 weeks

Well tomorrow Colby is 3 weeks old! I can't believe he's already been apart of this world for almost 21 days. We've started getting into a pattern for eating and we're still working on the sleeping problem. He has let me sleep about 6 hours each of the past two nights. It's been nice. We have loved being able to see some family the last few weeks but are also happy to be alone, just the two of us. I am really enjoying having Colby to myself and feel very spoiled with all the time I get with him. Sterling unfortunately will not be back home until late February, which means he gets to miss a lot of the sleepless nights! haha. We miss you lots daddy and wish you could be here!!
I've found that Colby likes to fall asleep on me and sleep in bed right next to me, no complaints here! I don't mind waking up to his little face every morning. :) He is very alert when he is awake and just studies everything. But one of my favorite things to do is watch him dream, he makes the most adorable faces in his sleep. Here are a few more pictures to show off our little man. We absolutely LOVE him!

Colby Jaidyn Poggemoeller
Where to begin...This blog has been created to keep you all up to date on the happenings of little Colby Poggemoeller. This is probably the easiest way for all of our family and friends to see this little guy since we're living down in California away from all our family and many of our friends.
Colby waited until October 21st (five days after his due date) to finally come into this world. It just so happened that his daddy flew in the night before and was able to see him born! My mom and I make the trek down to LAX, only an hour away, to pick Sterling up from the airport that Monday the 20th and headed straight to the hospital from there. We were scheduled to be induced at 9 pm but when I checked in the nurse told me I was already having contractions and we could wait to see if Colby would come on his own. Things went very very slowly as I watched a monitor that showed me the contractions of other women in the nearby labor and delivery rooms. As I watched these other women have huge contractions and then having their babies I was very discouraged. I was making progress just very slowly and with little discomfort. I did have a lot of pain from how Colby was resting while waiting to decide to finally come join us so I was given an epidural at 10 am on the 21st. Whoo hoo! No pain :) Colby still didn't seem to be in a hurry. He gave us quite a scare around 11 am when his heart rate dropped suddenly down to 70 and a couple of nurses rushed in to make sure that we were both ok. We got his heart rate back up, with a few worried tears on my part. And we started to push at 5 until noon. My mom and Sterling, along with the doctor and my nurse, sat watching the monitor waiting for a big enough contraction for me to push. This little guy was stubborn but he finally gave in and let us bring him into the world on October 21st at 12:10 pm. He was 7 lbs 14 oz and 21 inches long. He has a full head of dark brown hair and the most adorable little face!
Since we've been home from the hospital things have been going pretty well. We enjoyed having Grandma Lori here for a nice 2 and a half week vacation! She took such good care of us and I couldn't have survived the first 11 days without her here. We also loved having daddy around to take videos and pictures and make funny faces at Colby. It's been an adventure filled first 11 days and I can't wait to see what the next coming days bring.
I'll try to post some pictures soon!
