March 18, 2010

It has been a VERY long time since I posted last. I am attempting to bring you up to date with no distractions from Colby, he is down in San Diego visiting Sterling while I am up in Washington visiting family. Colby is a very busy little guy. He walks all over the place, can go up and down the stairs on his own, talks quite a bit, and is just a handful of spunk. He has 8 teeth (4 upper and 4 lower) and is working on 4 molars. I am not looking forward to the next couple weeks....it's always fun when the teeth start cutting through the gums, it reminds me of when he was 2 months old and cried all through the night. He is my little cuddle buddy and gives hugs AND kisses. It's so cute!

I am attempting to add some videos here so that you all can see what an adorable little man he is turning into. Colby will be 17 months old on Sunday March 21st, which ironically is the anniversary of the day I moved into my first place in California back in 2007.

Colby's vocabulary includes: DaDa, Mommy, Momma, Car, Bye Bye, BaBa (Papa), Go, Hi, Yeah, and probably a few more that I am missing. He really is such a blessing and I enjoy every day with him.

One Year Old ALREADY?!

It seems like just yesterday I was waddling around and so ready to pop I couldn't stand it anymore. Colby is officially one year old (as of 12:10pm PST)! This time last year I was in awe of my beautiful newborn. It is so bittersweet to think of it.

Colby has been through quite a bit this past year.

9 month check up

Colby had his 9 month check up last week. He is now 30 1/4" long, 19.6 lbs (coooome on 20 lbs!!), and his head is 17" around. He is still just a tall skinny guy. It's hard to get outfits to fit right! He's long enough for most 9-12 month clothes but so skinny he swims in them. haha. Poor kid. He has 4 teeth and is getting around like a lightning bolt. He crawls quickly and is starting to stand on his own. The one bad habit he's picked up is grinding his teeth, I need to get him into the dentist for that! :(

He's still Momma's little man and doesn't like being away from me. He likes me to sit in his play room and watch him play, if I leave he comes to find me. It doesn't help me get any cleaning done, thats for sure!

Colby is eating pretty much anything and everything these days, though he doesn't show it! He loves mac n cheese, pea soup, rice crackers, and any little snacks he can toss in his mouth. What a great eater!

Here are some new pics to peek at!

6 months old

Colby is now 6 1/2 months old. I am a little late on updating, I apologize. At his 6 month check up he was 17 lbs, 27 inches long, and his head was 17 inches round. He is in 25% for head, 50% for weight and 75% for length. I feel like he eats a TON! He has switched to baby food eating 2 jars every feeding. He is still just scooting and not crawling but, he does sit up mostly on his own. He is also getting his FIRST TOOTH! It popped up around April 29th.

Colby is such a good and happy baby. We took our first road trip with him for Heidi and Jared's wedding in Keller, TX. We were able to stop along the way and stay with some family over night. Thanks again to Margaret & Charley, and The Jaramillo's for letting us stay with you, it made the trip easier on ALL of us!

04/03/09

Colby has grown quite a bit since I updated last. I've been just busy, busy with him. Running around, visiting family in Washington for a surprise visit, walking and hanging out with our mom's group.

Colby is not quite sitting up on his own but he is getting really close! He is scooting towards things and working on crawling too! He seems to be teething, drooling lots, gnawing on anything and everything, and very irritable right now. We started him on rice cereal on March 13th while visiting Gramma and Papa Boone. He has done so well with it. We also started him on organic sweet potatoes, he LOVES it! I'm trying to work on making him full so he doesn't want to eat every TWO hours. I posted a little slideshow in the sidebar of some of our recent pictures.

He is at a perfect age right now. I love how interactive he is but independent and the same time. He likes to pull hair, play with his toys, "fly", dance with Momma or Daddy, hang on the couch (yeah he likes TV :( ), hang upside down, smile, and laugh. He's my favorite person right now!!

I am looking for a job, cross your fingers. I am hoping to find a job where I will work nights so that we don't have to put Colby in daycare but we'll see what happens. We will schedule his 6 months appt soon but we still have a couple weeks. I will update again then, unless he starts crawling!

Colby's first cold

Well we had Colby's 4 mo check up on the 19th and he had just come down with his FIRST cold. Poor little guy. We sat in the cold and rainy weather waiting for Sterling to get home. That's when the runny nose started and now we've been all stuffy, snotty, and sore. He is now 25 1/2 inches long, 14 lbs 11 oz and his head is 16 inches around. The doctor says he pretty much average. Sounds good to me!

We still spend our days just hanging around the house, although there are A LOT more toys here now! He even has a couple DVD's that we watch together. He hasn't rolled over yet but he can roll from belly to back and back to belly. Now that Daddy is home I think we'll be working a lot more on rolling and coordination and maybe even crawling! We'll see. I'm not in too big of a hurry to get him mobile.

Well, not much else to say today, we didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night! Poor little man couldn't breathe and was coughing so much it kept him and Momma up. Hopefully the new humidifier Daddy bought will help us tonight. We don't like being sick!

Love you All and we'll try to post some new pics soon!
